Horses (Pioneer Day)

This morning I woke up early and met up with some of my coworkers and we rode horses at the farm. I always got jealous when we set a new group of our kids on the horses every Tuesday. I'd never ridden them before. So then last week my boss said that we could come early Friday and ride but we wouldn't be paid. Fine by me, I'll come anyway because I was so excited. Then this morning they said that we could actually clock in and so I WAS PAID. Just for riding horses. They first put me with a horse named Skip. He doesn't play well with the others and he isn't a great listener. Within the first 10 minutes he had gone up to Thunder and bit him in the behind. I also got to ride 2 of the other horses, Thunder and Curly. We got inside of an arena and they let us do whatever we wanted. Thankfully with no guide or helmet like the kids have to. I had so much fun.
Then later today Dad took C and A and I downtown to the Pie Pizzeria and then we walked around City Creek Center. Later we went and watched the neighborhood fireworks. It was a fun day.

Skip

(I tried to kiss his front because that's what they always show in the movies. The major difference is that in the movies they don't show the actor/actress wiping off their hair covered lips afterwards though. :) )

Tubing

Last weekend was so much fun. Friday we did Nacho night and a movie. Then Saturday we went early to Einstein Bagels and got breakfast then headed to tube down the Provo River. It was a two hour ride and it was worth every minute. So many memories were made. Then we went out to Moochies that night to eat. We also rode the four-wheeler in the backyard.

Fourth of July

For any other normal family going to a holiday parade you would bring lawn chairs, a blanket for the kids to sit on, and a candy bag (again for the kids). They would find a spot on the parade route and then watch the parade. The children can collect whatever candy is tossed at them and the adults on the chairs would collect all the advertising flyers and coupons. Then they would leave when the parade was over.

WE ARE NOT YOUR TYPICAL PARADE GOERS! We don't go to collect candy, we go to toss it back. We don't sit, we stand the whole time and we yell. ALOT! We yell things like, "_______ you're our favorite city!" and "Will you marry me!?!" Yep, we also get dressed in red, white and blue attire which some years have included a cape and wacky sunglasses. We find enjoyment of being the loudest people on the street. Dad and R come home exhausted and their voices are shot. We place chairs early in the week to ensure our spot. We buy a big breakfast of fruit, muffins, juice, chocolate milk, yogurt. There is no way you leave hungry. It's much like an Olympic sport by how much we prepare. This year we made big signs so that even if you didn't hear all the yelling, at least you could read the giant posters. This year we also went to two parades because R's son J was in another one and we went to support.

That night we watched the Murray fireworks at the park. We were some of the last people to leave once it was over because we didn't want to sit in our car to wait to get through the crowds. Then as we sat there on our lawn chairs, it started to rain. We shouldn't have needed to seeing as it is July, but we were prepared with umbrellas.

Pickleville

So a little while back we went and saw another different production of El Bandito at Pickleville Playhouse. On our way we went to Taco Bell and they had fun sauce packets. I couldn't resist taking a picture. Non of us really loved the show. But hey at least now we can say we've seen it now but I don't know that it's an impressive thing to admit. S and T came with us. After the show we got raspberry shakes. The shakes made the whole trip worth it to me. We went inside a small shop that gave us a free sample of fudge. We also played the "Heads-Up" game on the way home and that was super fun too.
